News of mine: I quitted my job and now officially a Stay At Home Mother.

Really kinda of upset leaving the place that I spent 8.5hours, Monday to Friday. And I really can't bear to leave my friends. I hate this feeling. There's always such a time that we will say goodbye.

Thank you peeps, for taking care of me during the past 2 years.

My Birthday ~ 20102010

I was too tired that night as it's a normal working day. So I went to bed at 10plus as usual and fell asleep around 11something.

I was in my good night sleep when my hubby standing by our bedroom door, holding on to the cake and sing the birthday song.

Then, I felt like I'm dreaming. Looking at him in my half awake mode and took me awhile to react to him and push myself up from bed. Haa! It was unexpected that's why I went to sleep and didn't expect anything to happen!

So we went to the dining room and cut the cake. Yummiest chocolate cake!!!

I couldn't resist chocolate cake lor! Insisted to have a slice then go to bed. Haa!! It's so rich and so niceeeee!! If I'm not being forced to control, I could have finished the whole cake!

The next day, I stayed at home napping while ask him to go ahead with his badminton games. It was hazy anyway and I just want to catch up with my beauty sleep. Too tired le!

So he brought me to Fullerton Bay Hotel with the nice scenery (minus the haze) at the roof cafe.

Never done a proper meal before we learnt to stay by ourselves with a lovely home and of course a beautiful kitchen. So I made myself to learn cooking as I really prefer homecooked food than outside packet food.

Birthday event of the year! We went to Conrad and had their buffet dinner.

Don't know isit me or the food. Everything doesn't seems to be appetising to me. I can only look at my cousins attacking the oysters helplessly and that totally put my dinner off.

Need a friend at work?

Definitely. Or not I could not imagine how to survive 9-6pm everyday.

She joined the company about 3 months after me. We became friends only another 4-5 months later. Well, friendship will never come too late.

It started when she will ask me to go pantry with her as she will have to pass by my cubicle before reaching the pantry. Same for the washroom. That's how our friendship started.

We shared a lot of personal things and I'm really so glad that she came along. As my 2 temps left me, I felt lonely in the office. Nellie was the one who's always by side through all ups and downs.

She is a sensitive lady who will always care for my feelings and show concern whenever I feel down. I can confide anything to her as she is always very patient and understanding. I showed my appreciation too by showing attention to her.

Time flies... We've been under the same shelter for the past 1 year. And because we are so clicked now, most colleagues commented that we look alike. Probably we spent too much time together even after work and weekends. Hee!

She likes to take photos too. This was taken at my desk.

This was taken on a special day of mine. It feels so good to be able to share a special news to someone at work.

My sister's 21st Birthday Party!

All these are planned about 1 month before my sis's birthday. I think she's smart to know what's going on. Hee...

And so Mel suggested to book for Resort Worlds since its so new and the price for member is about the same as other hotels.

So on the 6th March, we checked in Festive Hotel.

The happy birthday girl. And she thought we are going to the Sentosa NTUC chalet. LOL~!

When she comes in, her friends gave her a shock.

Chinese New Year is the same every year.

Hong baos, yu-sheng, meals after meals, steamboat, cleaning, washing, TV, mandarin oranges, new clothes, shoes, gathering etc etc

These photos were taken at 1am. I was super tired at around 6pm lor. That was the usual time as I knocked off from work and the timing that I will fall asleep on the bus =( sianz~!

Anyway, I reached there just as they done with dinner and I get to take pics with them.

JUST A MUM?

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the Motor Registration office,
Was asked by the counter clerk to state her occupation.

She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.

'What I mean is,' explained the counter clerk,
'do you have a job or are you just a ..?'

'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman.

'I'm a Mum.'

'We don't list 'Mum' as an occupation,
'housewife' covers it,'
Said the clerk emphatically.

I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Medicare office.

The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like,
'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar.'

'What is your occupation?' she probed.

What made me say it? I do not know.

The words simply popped out.
'I'm a Research Associate in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations..'

The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and
Looked up as though she had not heard right.

I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words.
Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written,
In bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.

'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest,
'just what you do in your field?'

Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice,
I heard myself reply,
'I have a continuing program of research,
(what mother doesn't)

In the laboratory and in the field,
(normally I would have said indoors and out).

I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family)

And already have four credits (all daughters).

Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities,
(any mother care to disagree?)

And I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it).

But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'

There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she
Completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.

As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career,
I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3.
Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,
(a 6 month old baby) in the child development program,
Testing out a new vocal pattern.

I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!
And I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mum.' Motherhood!

What a glorious career!
Especially when there's a title on the door.

Does this make grandmothers
'Senior Research associates in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations'

And great grandmothers
'Executive Senior Research Associates?'

I think so!!!

I also think it makes Aunts
'Associate Research Assistants.

A game of L4D2

We had an afternoon gathering for the Left 4 Dead 2 game.

Alex came over to pick me up as usual and I just use his camera to snap snap snap...

Dragged my sister in for the game too. But she's a much better player than me in the game =_="

I'm now a L4D2 addict. Lol~! Kill kill kill. I can use this game to vent my anger and imagine those zombies are people who betrayed my trust. Hmph!

Left 4 Dead 2

After my work on that Saturday, I asked Alex out for dinner.

So nice, he came over to pick me up and brought me dinner at ION.

Thenafter, he suggested to bring me for a game call "Left for Dead too"

I asked him what game is that, he laughed and said that I am probably the last one on earth to have heard about it. =_=" It's a LAN game and he will bring me to one of the LAN shop where he is a member. He explained that its a go-run-shoot-teamwork game.

"Is it like Counter Strike?"

"Something like that..."

"Don't want lar! I'm easily hook onto shooting game and I insisted on not playing Counter Strike when the whole world was playing. Because I know I will be so addicted!"

In the end, we still go ahead. Because I know how it feels when you are so addicted to something and you want to play it.

So when I reached there. I saw the poster: LEFT 4 DEAD 2

It's not Left for dead too! Because I never heard of the game, and I won't possibly think that there's numeric 4 and 2 for the name.

So, I spent about 15 mins screaming whenever the zombies are near me and when those monsters caught me. As we are wearing the headset while playing, I push the mic away abit because I believe I would have burst Alex's ears.

Throught that 15 mins, I was trying so hard to walk, to jump, to go up the bridge, to climb over window and to go up stairs. And learning hard to pick up items, change item, heal myself etc.

Most of the time, I need help to be saved from those big zombies (forgot the names) and being heal from being dying. Now I understand why need a lot of teamwork.

Overall, it's really fun. Now I know why LAN games can be so addictive. I don't like it. Because I'm easily fall in love with games. During then when I was playing Time Crisis, I know it too well. I can spend so much time at the acarde when my friends date me out. I played the game with 1 token when a guy used 10 tokens. He then made friend with me and praised me. LOL~!

Please please please don't let me stuck in this game ~

My last piece of wisdom

My wisdom tooth.

Yes and again. Another round of operation and all of my 4 wisdom were removed.

I need to plan my this operation after xmas goodies go and before CNY goodies come.

4 January 2010

Although I'm mentally prepared, but I still run to the toilet the day before and on the morning itself. My legs still went jelly when it's about time to visit the dental clinic.

Again, I was shivering really bad on the dental chair. This time, it was a new assistant.

Same procedure, the dentist injected the first jab, the second jab then the third one which he warned it will be painful. True enough, I had to endure so hard to get it over.

Then took the painkiller. Waited for about 5mins for my lips to numb and the assistant blindfolded me. Start with the drilling, saw open the gum or whatever then break my tooth to pieces or something. Felt pain and halfway he injected the local anesthetic again.

And soon, he told me that he's going to remove those pieces of the tooth, I feel so happy that it's going to be over. I relaxed and tell myself "It's going to be over very soon".

Just that moment, I felt faint. I felt that I'm falling asleep.

What's wrong?

The operation is over, I'm not suppose to feel sleepy in anyway.

At that moment, I felt like I'm dying. I can feel it. I am serious. I feel that the 'sleepbug' was so strong that its pulling me into deep sleep. I experienced that I'm going to die that moment when I sleep.

I tried to wave my hand, which then assistant hold me (thought that I'm in discomfort). Strange enough, I can't seems to talk/express that I need help. It's so helpless when I got no strength to move, no strength to talk, no strength to pull myself up.

I was being blindfolded, they can't see my expression either! The thing is, the operation is still halfway through and how do I stop it?

Then the dentist says he's going to do the stitches for me. I was trying to tell him to do it faster. I keep telling myself that the op is over and what for I go to sleep now? I struggled real hard to keep myself awake. I know that I pulled myself to wake up from the sleep-call. Any moment, I feel like dying.

I raised my another hand and trying to seek for attention, the dentist then asked if I'm in pain. I wasn't in pain of course, I just let him finish the job.

And they knew that something is wrong when I moving my hand non-stop. I know I didn't have strength to do that course I can hardly control my hands. They lifted my eyemask a little to 'let me see some light'. When everything was over, I finally wake up.

I told the dentist I'm very drowsy and I told him what I experienced and asked if it's normal. I swear I don't feel like this at my first experience. He says feeling drowsy is normal but if wanting to fall asleep is not normal. He told me to sit up and stay on the chair till I feel totally okay to go.

I got a life threatening shock. My face must be so pale that the dentist also find that something is wrong. Must be. Or not he won't asked me to sit there for so long.

I went in to the room at 930am. By the time I sat down on the chair and rinse my mouth, it should be around 935am. After waiting for the LA to take its effect, the op should only start at around 945am.

When they lifted the eyemask from me, it's only 1010am. It was truly the most horrifying 25mins for me.

For the rest of the week of the medical leave, I feel totally exhausted and keep sleeping.

To date (29.01.2010), I just realised, I've been very very tired and can't seems to focus very well. I feel very sleepy all the time and I need to go to bed at around 10pm everyday where I could stay up till 12am most of the time. Something is very wrong. I feel very weak and often out of breath. Just as I type this entry, then I start to think is it of the Local Anesthetic effect till now? Is there this possibility?

If not, I must be too stress. That time when I was at EA, there's one period where I can't breathe well and took very long deep breath every few minutes. The doctor says I was under stress.

I must really learn to relax and be happy.

2009 has been a roller-coaster year for me.

9) Nightmares

8) Wisdom Tooth Operation

7) In-Laws

They were generally very good parents. But my MIL is a person of too few words. She don't know how to express herself and so we didn't really communicate much. As much as I wish how we can talk like how all other parents (of my students) love me, we just don't click that well. It was then another emotional fight for me to go through and something I cannot get along with the flow. And his sister is someone with NO-WORDS. I missed my parents even more. Missed my irritating sister even more. I ran home 2 months after staying at his place. It's not that they are not good, it's just that I can't adapt to the life. I'm such a rebellious bad daughter in law.

6) Renovation Woes

The financial part. Period.

5) Marriage

Of course it's not about my husband that I'm unhappy about. But the mixed feeling of being married. I'm no longer just me, myself and my world. It now involves a partner in my life, a new family. And the worse feeling ever in my 26years is leaving my parents. I cried real hard the second day I woke up after the wedding night. I MISSED MY PARENTS & SIS SOOOOOOOO MUCH. Something which I didn't had the courage to share. But it's neither anything to be shameful about. My heart ache so bad. I wasn't as strong as I looked. It's neither a fairytale that wedding/marriage is a happy event. - At least for me.

4) To leave my Cosy Home

It wasn't that easy as I imagine. To leave out of my parents place (once again) for good made me think like a 3 year old girl. As much as I'm excited to start my new stage of life, I wish that I'm still 18 and staying with my parents and sister. I prefer my life that way. Not that I don't want to lead a new life with my partner but honestly, being 9,855 days so close with my family isn't an easy thing to do. I'm thankful for my partner being so understanding that I'm staying close with them. That's the only comfort that I didn't moved out with a very heavy heart.

3) Value

Something that took me right to the bottom of the pit. Being promised to places yet it didn't happened. Seen what's on the screen that I shouldn't see. Being 'classified' as someone without value. I was totally hurt. It's still in me.

2) Trust someone

Because of my ignorance, I've trusting people too much. So much so that I always get hurt in returns. Because of my kind-hearted personality, I always thought that they made a mistake and I'm willing to trust those people again. But yet, they just treat me like a fool to bring me round and round in their fantasy ~~world~~ words. Please don't bring me to another sick game of this in 2010.

1) It's all about TRUST

Someone who wasn't close to me shattered my emotion into pieces. He came in to my life unknowningly and caused me sleepless nights for weeks. I almost got a serve emotional breakdown at one point of my life las year. I have to keep telling (talking) to myself that it's alright and I'm alright. But I just can't help falling into deep thoughts that that someone is going to kill me one fine day. I swear that I hate him. That's not all. People who betrayed my trust by making me believe that something can be done and I shared my research and work away. I promised myself that I will NEVER do such thing again and NEVER to trust others to work on my dream again.

And the one thing to look forward to in Year 2010?

I'm suppose to get married~! I mean, I've been planning and hoping to get married this year.

Why?

On my birthday this year. It will be special. 20 October 2010.

Haa... Lame... 20102010 - The day I wanted to get married~! But I reckon I be too old for the wedding. So I didn't want to wait. Probably I will have a good birthday celebration this year =)

After all these busy period = Alice going through her maternity, moving house, settling down, taking care of her kids, Josh with her (not new anymore) job, Me being a good housewife and Alicia with her resigning, packing, packing and more packing...

Why?

She's going off to xxxxxxxxxxxxx out-of-Singapore! (sorry for not letting out this information, because there's a lot of spy out here or rather K-P-O )

Once again, they are the best colleagues-become-friends that I ever gonna have. Always so encouraging and most importantly, they are genuine to me. Love this get-together dinner that we will have once in awhile. Gonna soooo miss it without Alicia babe around...

A few days after, the girls arranged to my place for a good get-together. Alice was sick and couldn't make it. (Please make it the next round!)

Love to have my friends hanging out at my place and tell me my place is cosy! Lol~!

Oppps... The tree is still there!

The two girls just love every corner of my house and took pictures of every corner. They loved the tree, the birds and cage on the wall too.

Ooooh... They are referring to the WII game set and it entertained them for quite awhile. Raving Rabbids were introduced.

I miss the girls

Time flies...

This was 6 months ago??

Their farewell -

This is Germaine. A very sweet girl. I really like her, she have plan for future, she don't wait for things to happen but work on the opportunity she has.

She is talented and creative. At the age of 19, she had already set up a blog shop 2 years ago with her younger sister. She even explained to me how she went to the country and bought things back to sell, which things are worth to sell etc.

From those past conversations, I can tell that she dotes her siblings a lot. She's a mature lady at her age. I do learn things from her too. The passion, the determination to earn $ instead of working for ppl, the love she shares for her family.

This is Wan Lin. A very loud girl. She often scares me when she got excited or alarmed. Slowly, I got used to her excitement and it often brings joy to me.

She is very tall and make me feel v protected whenever I'm with her. (lol)

She always find me like a little girl (which I am) and often helps me to carry all the heavy stuffs. She will do all the work for me when strength is needed. I'm too weak with her around. She loves to analyse things and stand strong at her thoughts.

I really like this girl. She's always cheerful, always has a smile on her face, always doing things for me, always like to argue with me. She is protective and she is very independent. Same as Germaine, she thinks a lot for her family and save her $ well. I'm really impressed by the 2 girls at their age for being so matured.

They are the same age as my sister and I really clicked well with them. Often, they listen to me whenever I'm feeling down or at times when I have joyous news to share, they are always happy for me sincerely. They are so innocent yet matured enough to understand and care for me.

I really miss them. Thanks for coming back to visit!

Office Moving Day

We have all started our packing about 3 months back. Every Friday is packing day. The super weak me can contribute nothing to the packing of those heavy packs of brochure. So I could only do the boxes like a pro which I did the same for packing my room to my new house.

Opening ceremony for my new chair! Yeah! The thought of sitting on the old office chair which probably dozen of people seated on it just makes me feel uncomfortable.

I love Canon camera! For all those who know me well, I can't live without my camera.

This canon camera of mine have been with me for the past 3 years.

I'm really proud of it for staying with me through thick and thin, rain and shine without failing to make me happy, smile to it endlessly and the one who cheers me up when I'm down.

After probably a million shots, it gave up on me for. It braved through nights of few hundreds multishots at a go. It stood strong when I over abused it. I love it!

A compact camera like this, allows me to take pictures whenever I want...

Take lovely shoot with my love one...

Allows easy control on the perfect angle we want...

And I can take as many shots with its self-timer function...

And of course, my favourite of all, the multishot function. Which I can enable the self-timer mode and takes up to 10 shoots at a go...

This series was one of the record, which took 312 photos on a single night! (till the battery drained)

A Nellie Night

On this Friday evening, Nellie decided to come over my place to sleepover and she wanna cook dinner for Mel and me. She is such a darling!

And the next morning, she prepares breakfast for us again. A typical housewife huh!

Thenafter, we went to Orchard SHOPPING! Yaya, shop nothing in the end. I am now so looking forward to the shopping date with Nellie and Anna this weekend. Please let me buy A LOT of dresses!

Heart this girl. Really thankful to the whatever day that we started chatting in the office. I can't even really remember about it but whatever it is, we are now v close friends.

Thank you for always being there for me when I needed someone and always around me when I feel helpless.

A Woman Wish

I have been getting quite a few gfs of mine telling me that what would happen to them after married.

When I was chatting with Nel, she told me that her bf "hinted" her that he is a career-minded person and would wish that his wife would be more family-oriented.

Family oriented means that the woman can stay at home to cook, take care of the kids and do housework while the man bring the bacon home.

A few weeks ago, when my wifey told me that her husband wanted her to stay home after giving birth, she is thrilled! Cos that was something she has ever wished for. I feel that joy as much as her!

Of cos, there are lots of women out there who disagree with the idea. They are more careerminded and some probably think that their qualification is way too high and would gone to waste by staying at home.

Like Nel, she feels that she wants to do business as much as she wants and likes to have a family of her own.

For me?

Being a homemaker was probably my mindset right from the start and I told my then-bf that I would settle for that and if he wants to accept it then marry me. Haaa! So I didn't get a chance to know if that's what he really wants for me nor I don't know what's his thoughts for it since I "ask for it". He may just settled for what I said instead of think about what he wants.

Some time back, we had a serious talk.

And he suddenly talks about how he feels that it is very important to grow up with the child and stay closely connected with our own kids. He wants our children to be close to family and grow up happily with parents-love as nowadays kids are not being brought up by own parents.

I was totally taken aback.

That is my man!!

(Ohya, then probably my qualification is too lowly to stay at job :p)

My senior came over my place some time back and chatted with a few others and me. I asked her if her grandchild goes back to her parents everynight or what.

She says No - Only on Friday night till Sunday.

Do you remember when was the first time your child learns to walk?

Do you remember the day when you child can talk?

Do you remember where is the place your child had his first fall?

All these which are money can't buy back the time for the first few years of their growing up.

Of course not all families can afford for a single income.

But what if you have the choice?

Her daughter gets comment from her office that if she gonna conceives a second child, she can forget about promotion in the company. (She earns a 5 digit income currently.) Quite a high post le. The higher you climb, the more you won't want to come down right...

My first birthday celebration as Mrs Tay. Of course Mr Tay gotta do something really nice to pamper his wife.

And yes, he really did.

We used the one night free wedding anniversary stay from our package that we signed last year. This is indeed the memorable place for both of us.

Raffles Town Club even gave us a complimentry Welcome Drink - “Raffles Rhapsody” very nice!

Thenafter, we check in to our room. With the plan in mind to go and shop at Orchard after putting our stuffs, we were both shocked when we checked out the suite.

Allow me to bring you to this photos-tour of the room -

The Relaxation Lounge first greeted when we opened the main door: A 2-seater sofa, 1 armchair, additional round table with 2 chairs, cable-tv, mini-fridge, drinks corner.

Behind this Relaxation Lounge, its our bed...

As we walked through the entrance, I screamed! The Jacuzzi Whirlpool just sits right in the middle of the room!

Not only that, as I walked further down, the suite got more rooms in there.

I didn't expect to have a Steam Room and Sauna Room in this suite too.

And there's the Bathroom with Shower and seperate toilet.

Another TV for you while you are in the Jacuzzi Whirlpool. *speechless*

Totally love it! We decide to come back to enjoy the facilities instead of doing shopping at Orchard. We went ahead to Taka for lunch and bought my favourite requested cake then went back to the room to enjoy the Jacuzzi.

After the short nap, we are ready for dinner! I heart this Jasmine suite size at 78sqm.

It feels like Mel booked the entire restaurant. Heh!

I really love this anniversary celebration though we r still not married for 1 year yet but I'm truly glad that we chose this venue for our wedding. I love it and it's still nicely pictured in my head on that special day.

And there - the next day - our breakfast.

This is my actual day - 20th October. My poor boy still need to rush off for work while I took a good nap from the countless tortures I had went through. Boy, I was hell tired can!

I wanted to cook for dinner and as I haven really wake up from my nap, I start to boil the water so I can do the soup. It's a good 15mins later but I was still in my dreamyland. It shows that I'm really tired.

And so, I did something to wake me up.

The hot water splashed on my hand. =( That's my birthday gift for this year.

It turned real RED after a few days cos I choose to ignore it. Didn't put on any medicine cos I thought it will heal by its own. So now, I'm so super scare that it will leave a scar. Please tell me it will not, ok?!

Housewarming

So we started grocery shopping last week and made about 3 trips to supermarket and 1 trip to the wet market. My gfs are all so excited to organise this gathering for Mel and Me. I got the best friends ever in the world! Envy Me Please! Haa!

They do this gathering and treat it as a housewarming day for us. As both Mel and I don't wanna do any housewarming, but the girls are so nice that they insisted it. Jing has been asking for weeks and on Wednesday, she suddenly text me to say she's so looking forward to it.

It got me super happy as I get to buy food and do the preparation! My funny Kenny ask me why steamboat needs preparation.

Okay, without a house of your own, you will never understand! Just like me when I was living with daddy and mummy!

Because we still need to clean the house, tidy the place and buy the food according to how long the food should be kept in the fridge and to plan on what to buy!

On Friday, Mel started the cleaning.

Yup, they deserved all our efforts! Way before we start our renovation, they have been pressing on us to tell us what they will buy for us and what they can buy for us so that they won't get us gifts that we don't need and it's the choice of what we want. Heart all of them! A big thank you once again!

And also to my parents who aren't joining for the dinner, but woke up at 8am with us to go to the market and help us choose the fresh prawns, fishes, fishballs, veggies and etc.

All the way till 11am and I was already exhausted. This is parents love. Heh!

And she's loving it!

After 2 rounds of cleaning the veggies, she knocked out! Haa! See! Being a housewife is not a easy job!

Elvin really cleaned our table sparkling clean! He was in shirt somemore. Feel so bad. Haa! Potential houseman to be!

Dinner with the Lovelies at ION

My (FINALLY) good meal after my tooth extraction. Woots! Even most of us here have already left the previous working place, we still keep in touch so much so that they are often being missed by me.

Life is great with great colleagues-turn-friends at work. Cos they are the ones that I actually spent most of my day with. We need to have great pals around.

I was about to give up. On my life, on my route, as I see myself heading to nowhere. Then, Alicia babe told me about her one of the greatest decision that she had made. It totally shocked me and I'm truly inspired by this girl.

She's one with a great heart, a great ambition and most of all, great courage to go with what she wants. Of cos, it was a very tough moment for her and I'm so proud of her that she did it. I wanted to make such a move (but a different agenda) but I must have a push for it. Babe, your news came at the right time. The right time when I wanted to give up my life. Thanks dear.

And of cos, such decision of mine won't come true if my husband chose not to stand by me. What can I say, he is really the greatest guy in the world I can ever asked for. He is the one whom encourage me, the one who supports me, the one who put my decision into actions for me and willing to do anything for me. It is surprising. I find it unbelievable. He's too good to be true. I really love you, darling.

Here, my best ever working colleague and now my very close friend whom I see her as my elder sister. Whenever I have some thoughts and decision to make, she is always the one whom come to me and give me advise. Be it my work, my wedding, my plans, my house or whatever, she never fails to give me a complete guide to it.

I do feel acknowledged by these girls as Alice said that at least we do click and got the chemistry to be friends. I always treasure friendship as it's hard to come by and out of so many coy, we get to work under one and moreover the same dept. Same for Alicia and Josh. They are both such kind, understanding and sweet girls.

At least, I am being loved. We are all glad that we have moved on to our each new company and are much happier. Happier for the new job but we just miss the love we had from friends.

Wisdom Tooth Extraction

I had my 1st wisdom tooth pulled out last year May. I witness everything that the dentist did to me. The equipments that he used was so huge in my view and the strength that he used makes me want to faint.

It started when I experienced pain and it affects my sleep as I even woke up in the middle of the night from the sharp discomfort of my teeth and gum which I feel like tearing my mouth apart.

During that extraction moment, the dentist did quite awhile to pull out the tooth. He suggested me to go under general anaesthetic (GA) for extracting 4 at one go. Wah.. Think v easy huh... To extract all 4.

He explained that my bottom 2 are the complicated ones. As both are laying down, need to go through operation. He suggested that I should remove all 4 together.

I start to imagine if I will die of pain after the local anaesthetic (LA) wears off. So I decided to pull out the decayed tooth first.

I can't remember what was that feeling. Or rather, I don't want to think about it.

Last year December, when I went to do my teeth cleaning, the dentist says he will give me only 3 months more for my upper tooth to be extracted and max 6 months for the bottom ones.

Okay... So I drag and drag because the thought of it makes me scared. The deadline is supposed to be this year May / June but I was tied up (excuse?) and then after I moved house and I forgot about it.

So then, I started to feel the pain again. No choice, I fixed the appointment with consideration of settling my work, planning for the dates of my wifey's hen's party, wedding day and my birthday. Better keep the extraction with a bit of distance from those events.

A few weeks ago, my cousin Amy gave me the courage as she said that everything is okay as she went under general anaesthetic and have 3 of hers all removed. I made up my mind somehow that I shall go through GA and pull out the remaining 3 but then, she talked abt the jab of the GA is fpain. =( I got so terrified and started to discuss with my colleagues.

Hazel was working at a dental clinic before and explained that normally dentist will suggest GA if the operation is near nerves. Or not, she won't encourage me to do GA as it's not good for health. She says I can go through it just with LA.

Then Farhana and Nellie assured me that how easy was their operation process and it gave me huge encouragement to go for it. I watched xiaxue's entry on her wisdom tooth extraction again and she pulled out all 4 under LA! She was like doing good lor!

But she did say it's horrible thenafter. So I decided to just remove the 2 teeth of my left side. I already can't tell which side is giving me trouble now as the pain just spread across the whole set of teeth and gum.

The appointment was fixed on Tuesday. Starting from Sunday, I couldn't get to sleep at night. I was wide awake at 2am feeling horrible.

Then Monday, I don't feel like sleeping as I don't want Tuesday to come. That night, I still requested to have KFC for dinner =P

Argh... So finally, the morning before the op, I finished up a bowl of noodle and it was so yummy! When it's time to go to the dental, I dragged my feet out of the door and into the car. The moment I reached the clinic, I was already shaking.

So, on the dental chair, I trembled without able to control myself. And I blamed the air-con. I asked the dentist if my tooth is near the nerves? He says No. So okay, I can go ahead with LA to do the op. Before his jab, I stopped him and tell him I can't swallow pills, and asked him if I need to the painkiller first. He says Later.

The first jab wasn't that pain, but the 2nd and the 3rd ones are. I think he gave me 4 or 5 jabs? Think it depends on where he's injecting then it will be painful. As I have a seriously low pain threshold, I find the jabs are okay. And ya, I'm still shaking.

After chewing and swallowed the painkiller, we have to wait for a few minutes for the LA to take effect. Have to wait till the tongue, lips and chin to be numbed.

Then they blindfolded me.

And all I heard was the drilling, sawing, drilling and sawing. Halfway through, I feel pain and I made some noise, the dentist asked if I was feeling pain, I nodded and he gave me another jab =_="

Thenafter, although the sounds were unbearable, it wasn't painful at all and once he started the op, strangely, my body stopped shaking.

But I hate the pulling part. The sawing part was okay just that the noise is unpleasant. But I can feel like he needs to do alot of strength to remove the tooth. So it's like to make the tooth loose, it didn't succeed and he needs to saw again. Then loosen again, the tooth not out, he saw again =(

When it's ready to pull, he will tell me that I will hear a 'click' sound. It's like forever for me to hear that sound lor. And when I thought it's done, he continued to saw again. Argh! When will it end??

I keep hearing the dentist telling the assistant to pass him more tools. Makes me start thinking that my op have some complication somewhere and it wasn't what he expected that he gotta redo it or whatever. I feel like shitting in my pants liao lor.

Okay, I think the whole process took like 20 mins!!

When he FINALLY say its done, he starts to inject LA for the upper tooth. And he starts to sew up the opening. I hate to imagine how it's done.

Ohya, before the op, I asked him if the op will be fast? He replied me that the lower one will be faster than the upper one. waaah... And I thought I remember that time it took quite long for my upper tooth leh.

When he said that he's ready to pull the upper one. I was telling myself that I'm gonna be so dead. I wanna tell him that I don't want to pull liao, cos the op took 20 mins and the upper one will take longer, I think I will just faint before he starts to do it.

Before I know, he already put his tool on my tooth. And before I know it, he said it's DONE!

So happy! It's like less than 3 minutes for the upper tooth to come out. I didn't remember it to be so fast for my first extraction last year.

So when he says everything is over and done. And the first thing that I said was "I don't want to take out the last one le"

He just laughed and say it's a must. Sianz...

Then I "scolded" him - "You said the lower tooth is faster than the upper one!!!"

And he just laughed. Argh!

So then, I managed to go home with Mel holding me.

The stupid 3rd molar - (ya, it's decayed) YUCKZ~! This is the upper tooth. The bottom one are smashed into pieces which I can't bring it back.

The stitch. I wonder what's that black spot there. A blood clot? (ya, there's still blood) And if I continue to drag longer, it will affect the 2nd molar (the tooth besides the wisdom tooth) to decay too.

He had to cut my gum open, then pushed it back, smashed/saw the tooth to pieces then take out the pieces one by one... (FAINT) I think that's the procedure. I have one more op to go, so I won't bother to read much about it.

Then my dearest bake sponge cake for me. I can't really chew but this was before the LA wears off. I put it into my milk and try to swallow them. At least I can taste the cake.

I AM SUPER HUNGRY and I just went back to nap. The blood just soaked up the gauze non stop. Yuckz! I'm so hungry to a point that I have no mood to feel hungry at night.

Ya, I had no dinner.

Day 2 - My brunch - Fish porridge. Just swallow and chew abit using my right side of the mouth.

Dinner time! I need congee...

Sadly, even the chicken are all cut into such small pieces, I couldn't swallow and I couldn't chew them off with my another side of the teeth, so I gave all what's on my plate to Mel.

Yummy! Glad I'm still alive.

Have to put ice cubes cos I can't have hot stuffs as it will hurts my wound.

Highly recommend my dentist = Dr Tan (New Life Dental) at Bedok. He's really skillful, can make me relax and I didn't faint =)

I'm so kpo to follow The Wedding. Cos Fann is my idol mah... Haa...

Way back in Year 2004, I get a chance to get so close to her due to a fliming assignment. It was a straight 5 days job on the set and with her in the studio every day. Her skin is really super nice that it glows. Fliming with her was super fun as the director was super humorous and Fann really played along like a small girl.

One of these 5 days, I went back early to the set after lunch and caught Christopher walking out of the studio. Haa! We were the only set in the studio so of course he was there to look for her. Heh! It's no big deal as they were already together since Year 2000.

I saw her wedding gown from the i weekly magazine. It's gorgeous! Wooot! Gonna catch tonight live telecast of their wedding!

Basically, we conceptualize the ideas ourselves, flipping thru tons of mags. Then got a contractor to do the works for us. A efficient and reliable guy. I would want him to be our contractor again for our next house because he is sure to settle all the things we asked for. Let me know if you want our contractor's contact.

It's all the hard work of my hb who came up with the concept, the design, supervising the whole renovation process as he wants to make sure everything goes according to his plan (or was he too excited over the whole thing?), running around to look for the best deal to get every single thing for our house.

And me? I just go over to the stores every weekend or after work to say "OK! Let's use this / that". Sure it's super tiring and stress for him over those days. Those days that I didn't do my part as his support as well. I feel really bad but being the man, he just keep on assured me that he just want to do the best for the house, because he wants to give us a lovely home.

What else can I ask for?...

Just as I thought I'm forgotten in the little corner of mine in the cold cold office, these are the 2 guys that put a smile on my face.

They are always mean to me but sometimes they are nice lar. Haa... They are sweet and caring at times to make me feel like a little girl. As I like to walk over to their desk and disturb them when nobody talks to me, they do entertain me wor. Heh.

A lovely Saturday to spend with the girls and discuss about Jillz upcoming wedding preparation. For Iris and I had been through the process, it makes planning for wifey easier.

I'm so super happy and excited for her can!!

This kind of feeling is weird. Being friends for more than 10 over years, and I can still remember clearly when we were all in our secondary school uniform and still studying, playing hard and as the then-Ah-Lians, we are all now grown up and moving to the next stage of life.

Fate is what that brought us together.

After dinner at market 85, they went to my under-reno-dusty house.

They were so happy for me. Their words and hugs really assure me that I have my BFFs to give me blessing.

It was completely madness for the past few months. Running around like mad every weekday and weekend to find stuffs for our lovenest. Not easy at all! Despite that, I still fork out time for my personal stuffs which I have committed to. I feel that however tied up with stuffs, you should do what you should do.

After the usual 7am wake up, rush to work and knock off at 6pm, I have to rush to the shops with hb for the appointments he made. Weekend comes, I still find time for my own stuffs while run around the island in search of our stuffs - from lights to toilet bowls to basin to cabinets to kitchen sink to taps to dining set to sofa to bedframe to wall / floor tiles and so many more.

Lights and tiles are the most headache part. To date, we should have visited more than 30 light-shops. I'm quite a difficult customer, can't seem to see something I like.

The most tiring person is of course the man of the house. He read through forum thread by thread, to get the best deal and try his best to save as much as we can by running around everywhere while I'm sitting comfortably in the office. He also need to handle his work and committment while at the same time, meet with the contractor, the carpenter, the electrician, the window installer, the laminate flooring sales... So poor thing. He's more tiring and stress than I am (although I'm really v tired by the end of every single day!) but he seriously didn't complain at all. Indeed a real man! Heh! Xin-ku-ni-le!

Can't wait for its completion. I'm so excited!

Be prepared to cook for her instead. Celine does not know how to cross the road. Please take care of her and lead her safely. Celine does not recognize directions well. If you’re have a poor direction sense, please give up!

Celine likes to eat a lot and I mean A LOT. She can eat and eat yet not grow fat. She claims that a Big Mac means nothing to her! But strangely, she gets full easily by drinking water. Celine loves mangoes but dislikes honeydew. And if you want to buy her snickers, make sure you don’t buy the almond flavoured one. She loves mentos too. If you want to woo her with food, please take note.
Celine loves to sleep. Yeah! Eat and sleep and be a pig! Enough about her?Guess not! Now for the more personal stuff…

Celine is actually a very sentimental person. Memories and gifts are dear to her. She will keep the flowers and other stuff she receives and can’t bear to throw them away. Celine does not show her feelings easily. It is difficult to guess what she is feeling inside. But that isn’t surprising because she often does not know what she is feeling inside either!
Celine is tired. She has a huge burden of troubles and worries. Do help her if you can. Celine hates the feeling of waking up and feeling all alone. And if she spends the day at home, she dislikes answering calls and replying SMSes so do not expect a swift reply.

Celine likes intelligent guys. She loves it when guys can explain things very well to her. Celine likes confident guys. This was written by my special friend. A beautiful 'testimonial' that he left in my friendster profile. It took him hours to write because the post was so long that all he typed in the friendster page went timed-out before he could save it.

I'm amazed by his post. He really indeed knows me so well. He do observed every single detail about me and remember those things I said.

I love to eat, and I do eat alot back then. Once, when I was modeling for the IT Show, he bought me snickers and I remember how I commented that I don't like almond flavour. I was really bad. But that's me.

Everytime I read this, I feel so touched. Touched by his sincerity, his concern, his true-self, his intelligence. He always express himself well, he knows how to make me smile, he shows that he's knowledgeable by explaining lots of things to me and never failed to impress me, he listens to everything I said and remember. He brought me to watch Beauty & the Beast just because I like it and even bought a jacket for me. The right size for me.

It took us about 50 minutes to get out of KPE! On the road of ECP was maddness! Then we realised, the jam was due to flooding at ECP. Only 1.5 lane is open out of the 5 lanes.

On 30th June 2008, my contract officially ended with my ex-company.

Today, 2009, it's my dear A last day! I'm so happy for her and I sent her my blessing. (Waiting for her to send me the pics)

On top of that, J tendered at 530pm on this very day!

I'm so happy for my 2 close friends.

Finally.

That's not all.

We had done our completion on this very day too! Yeapie!!

Finally. After so many times of trying to meet there.

Alicia insisted that I should meet them at Orchard when I suggested to take a bus down from work. Lucky she insisted! We were both too concern about each other, I feel bad that they have to wait for me for an hour after work. But she was too worried that I might lost my way and it's too dark for me. Love her!

I'm just too excited and happy to meet them. And I met 2 new friends. Rather, the cyber-friends whom have exchanged lots of email messages. Heeh!

Upon alighting from the cab, we met Alice. MISSSS her so much!! She dotes me like a little sis to her.

We settled down at Bens & Jerrys. (Make me think of my photoshoot with my 2 darlings and banana)

I so missed the days where we had lunch, those days where we walked along Orchard and take photos, those days where I shared my personal stuffs with them, those days where my Alice dearie took great care of me and treat me like a little sister, those days where Alice have to talk to me about my plans, those days where the 3 of them were so excited and discussing my wedding stuffs with me, those days where I shed tears when I'm about to leave the company, those days where Ean had lunch with us, those days when I hated the wolf so much, those days where we camwhore every lunch session, those days when they are by my side and stand by me no matter what happen. They are the best gifts I've got when I was at Tanglin.

It's been a long time since I enjoyed myself and laughed so hard. Hope this will continue...

And I finally suffered a very bad headache. I've so much things to do and run around everywhere like mad. I do enjoy every part of it. My poor boy is the one who need to settle all the stuffs while I'm at work. Feel so bad about it. But I think he loves it. Heh! I wish that people around me can be more sensitive and be more responsible to stuffs.

I survived as I have really great friends around me who showered me with true love. I need to hang on.

Thanks girls, for being there with me all the time whenever I need. Jing even tell me that she will plan to stay with me when Mel is going to reservist for 3 weeks. I really heart her. And for wifey to listen to me, to hear me out, to comfort me, to stand along with me, to be so attentive and concern about me on little details; really made me so much happier now. I love her so much!

So does qualification equals to capability?

Does position equals to work output?

When X from my ex-co questioned A about my qualification, A got so turned off and gave him a “what’s your problem?" - look

X then further explains because that if one has no degree, she shouldn’t be an Exec, can only be an Asst Exec. WTF.

So what if I’m an Exec without a degree?

It resulted in his unbalanced hormones to be unhappy about it.

So I thought, the company gave me a title of Exec, so do you want to demote my title cos of my qualification and forgot about what I had done and contributed to the company? Does it matter that I’m at which position to please your day? When I see my colleague going through her degree while being an Asst Exec; it doesn’t do her any justification throughout her 3 years in the company. She knows so much, done so much, work so hard but they still keep her as an Asst Exec. Even after she got her degree, she wasn’t officially offered a promotion. Why?

So that means any degree fresh grad, without any experience can be an Manager/Exec once he joins the company. WTF.

Of course, the director of the company won’t just demote my title because of this silly issue. This title was proposed when the director of the entity brings up my contract to the company. And the company approved and I got the job. What’s the big problem that my qualification doesn’t match my title?

I was told that even those who worked for 10 over years for the company, remains a small Asst Exec throughout just because she does not have the qualification. But I believe that she do have that enough knowledge and work responsibility during her service with the company right? Why do we have to keep to the book on not promoting her just because of the damn paper?

And now, easily anyone can be an undergrad student. Just because of the paper, he can enjoy having the power as a manager but not doing any much contribution to the company and with attitude?

So they make the worthwhile managers then?

I always feel that we are just WORKERS for company. And you know what it meant by worker. You just simply work for the company because they pay you. There’s should be no feelings attached. Because anytime you leave the company, they can just easily get someone to replace you. You are never the important person in anywhere. A shared with me before that nobody is indispensable.

Company look at qualification than your capabilities.

Capabilities = Your position title

So many friends had talked about it before. Just because of their qualifications, they can never go far. They are always being treated as somebody low and helper in the company.

It’s not because we are not smart enough to pursue a higher education. But we have family financial issues that we can’t afford education.

Few days back, WL was in an argument with Ed that “Parents owe us an education”

Which Ed and I totally disagreed with what she said. WL said that since parents bring us to this world, they should give us the education. So they owe us.

Ed: “Nobody in this world owes you anything. Including parents”

I agreed.

Why should parents owe us an education? Just because they brought us to this world? WL says if they can’t afford, then they shouldn’t bring us to the world then.

Nope.

Some of us (as children) also choose not to burden our parents with the education fees and we rather start to work earlier than our same age friends because of family financial. If you get to have your higher education, you are lucky. If not, I don’t think anyone should blame your family, your parents.

I’m happy enough that I’ve gotten what I have now.

I don’t blame the company and superior who choose to look at you for what you are due to your qualification. Because this is the society we are being raised up in.

Just because I don’t have the qualification, it means I don’t the title in the company, I don’t have the title in the company, it’s equal to that I don’t have the capability. And I am being judged by it then. Now I understand why certain events, I'm not worth to being sent to.

Fine.

I got this from someone who is aware of my current situation now blog this:
"Sigh. Somedays I wonder why there are so many stupid people out there with high paying jobs. I mean, they lack common sense. They arent imaginative. I think I know why. The academic type. They score in exams and are employed, although they have little social ability."

I believe it is so too.

Back to S - Whatever he got to say and his thoughts. There's tons to talk about him and what he did. By then, my post will be 3 pages long. Unbelievable!

I just got so disgusted. He is the fortunate one then. Please think about others before you open your mouth. I couldn’t believe that these above thoughts haunted me for so long. I will never be appreciated anyway.

Just because I don’t have a f-degree.

That is why no matter what, I hope my sis gets her degree. Because it sucks to be out there without one.
